Our props column for Sunday takes us to Spain with a Bet Builder bookings double for Getafe v Osasuna in La Liga…
It’s not much fun watching Getafe these days, with the team second-bottom of La Liga with just two wins all season and the lowest scorers in the division – and there’s no real signs of things improving any time soon.
They’ve somehow only lost twice in the last 10 league games with draws coming thick and fast – and draws have been a theme in this fixture as they’ve had three 0-0 draws in the last four meetings.
Getafe do have a decent record against Sunday’s opponents Osasuna though, and have more clean sheets against them than any other team – and the stats point to a home win as there’s not been an away victory in this fixture since 2008.
Osasuna aren’t in great form either with no wins in their last eight and no goals in their last four games on the road – so all told goals are very much not looking likely in this game.
What does look likely though is cards, certainly more than goals anyway, with Getafe averaging three cards per game as one of the league’s top offenders, and Osasuna not too far behind with 2.47 cards per game.
Importantly, though, Getafe have a way of dragging sides into the physical battle, as they’ve been given 51 yellows and four reds this season, and seen their opponents also given 51 yellows and two reds.
They’re one of just two sides in La Liga to have been given over 50 bookings and also seen their opponents booked 50 times, so in what should be a close, low-scoring affair it makes sense to back cards in some form.
The bookies also know the stats though so the odds are pretty short on anything under eight total cards, which is always a tough ask even in a game between teams like this.
Instead, we’re looking to focus on an 7/1 Bet Builder double on a player from each team to get their name in the book, and for Osasuna it’s a no-brainer with combative midfielder Lucas Torro the easy choice.
He’s already been suspended once after picking up five bookings, but instantly got a sixth upon his return – and four of those six have come away from home.
For Getafe, we’re opting for an outsider in Turkey forward Enes Unal, who is a big price but does have four yellow cards this season so only has two team-mates ahead of him in those stats.
He’s not been booked for a while and has been scoring goals instead, but he could be frustrated in this game and given the nature of the opposition we’re happy to role with him in our double.
