Defences could be laid to waste as Sporting Gijon take on FC Cartagena in Spain’s Segunda Division, says Tobias Gourlay
FC Cartagena v Sporting Gijon
Tuesday 18:00
In Italy yesterday, Venezia sprung a surprise. The hosts took a 1-0 lead and unfortunately for us – and indeed Fiorentina themselves – the visitors couldn’t respond.
We’ve crossed the Med and come to Spain today for one of this evening’s three games from the Segunda Division. Top-of-the-table Sporting Gijon travel to eighth-placed FC Cartagena and both teams should fancy their chances of getting among the goals.
Luis Carrion’s hosts have scored eight times in winning their last three league games at Municipal Stadium Cartagonova. Just prior to that good run, they lost at home to second-placed Almeria but still found the back of the net in a 1-3 defeat. BTTS has been the right bet in 3/4 this term and in 8/11 over a longer period.
Despite their loftly league position, David Gallego’s visitors have conceded on all of their last four road trips. BTTS has been the right bet in all four and – at an odds-against price – it’s also our bet on this one.
