The Daily Acca: Hosts to win the Seville derby

All square at Belensenses

Bet 1: Back The Draw in Belenenses v Vitoria Guimaraes @ 14/5 – KO 19:00 BST

Vitoria Guimaraes are the favourites to win at Belensenses this evening, but I think that their odds are too short and that the hosts can get a draw.

Belensenses are 13th in the league and they returned from the break with a 2-0 win at Deportivo Aves. That result continued their unbeaten run that is now five matches long – which quite the turnaround, as since prior to that, they had lost six out of seven.

The visitors drew 2-2 with Sporting on their return, which isn’t a bad result, despite being at home. They are sixth in the table, and while they have won their last three on the road, prior to that it had been four draws and two defeats.

Sevilla to take the bragging rights

Bet 2: Back Sevilla @ 5/6 – KO 21:00 BST

La Liga returns tonight with the Seville derby and with passions likely to be tempered behind closed doors, I am expecting the better team to win.

Sevilla are third in the table, but are only two points ahead of Atletico Madrid who are in sixth. They can’t afford to return with a bad result, and they certainly need to improve on their sub 50% win rate at home.

The good news for them though is that Betis have won just one of their 13 on their travels this season, and I see no reason to believe that they will suddenly rectify that. They have also lost their last two meetings with their neighbours.

Tondela to build on Benfica draw

Bet 3: Back Tondela @ 3/4 – KO 21:15 BST

The selection are no world beaters, but they did return with a draw against Benfica, and tonight they take on the team who are seven points adrift at the bottom of the league.

Desportivo Aves were beaten at home by Belensenses last week – a loss which was their fourth in a row. They have taken just 13 points from a possible 75 this season, and away from home it’s 10 defeats from 12.

Tondela can put some real daylight between them and the relegation zone with a win here, and I don’t expect them to blow that opportunity.
