Sunday’s Daily Acca has been boosted to 6/1 and it features one match from the Premier League and two from Serie A. Here are Paul Robinson’s selections:
No clean sheets at Villa Park
Bet 1: Back BTTS in Aston Villa v Leicester @ 7/10 – KO 16:30 GMT
Steven Gerrard saw his Aston Villa team fall to their first defeat under his tenure during the week, but a 2-1 defeat to Man City can be forgiven, and they had looked much better in their victories over Brighton and Crystal Palace.
Leicester have also been better in recent weeks, putting their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea behind them by beating Legia Warsaw and Watford. They drew 2-2 at Southampton in the week, and while they would have been hoping to win, it’s not a terrible result.
I am expecting goals today, especially as the Foxes are involved. Only two of their last dozen have failed to see both teams score, and while Gerrard has tightened things up at Villa, it’s hard to see them keeping a clean sheet.
Lazio to flop on the road again
Bet 2: Back Sampdoria to Win or Draw @ 8/11 – KO 17:00 GMT
Lazio were involved in an incredible game during the week, eventually drawing 4-4 with Udinese, in a match that saw three red cards.
The concern for Maurizio Sarri will be that it was the second outing in a row where they conceded four goals, as prior to Thursday’s match, they had been beaten 4-0 at Napoli.
Their away record isn’t great this season either – just one win from seven, and that came all the way back in August.
Sampdoria are far from the best team in Serie A, they are currently in 15th, but they have won two of their last three, and with home advantage, they should be good enough for at least a point.
A low-scorer in Turin
Bet 3: Back Under 2.5 Goals in Juventus v Genoa @ 6/5 – KO 19:45 GMT
Another Serie A fixture now, and I am not expecting many goals when Juventus host Genoa.
The Old Lady start the day in seventh place, but they could go as high as fifth with a victory. Obviously that is still well below expectations, but Massimiliano Allegri has a proven track record, and he should get things right eventually.
When it comes to goals, their matches have the second lowest average in the division at 2.4 per game. A total of nine of their 15 have seen this selection land, and with having failed to score in four of their last five, something like 1-0 or 2-0 wouldn’t surprise me here.
