Stepping up to seven furlongs, she coped well with the trip and the soft underfoot conditions to hold off subsequent Group winner Fleur D’Iris in a tight finish, underlining her battling qualities. The four pound fillies’ allowance will help and she looks like the value bet here.
After last weekend’s horror show at the Emirates, things are looking dire for Tottenham and it isn’t obvious how they are going to turn things around in the short term under a manager who is already under huge pressure.
Against the Gunners, the Tottenham midfield was non-existent and they were vulnerable on the flanks, both weaknesses that a well-organised Villa team are well positioned to exploit with their settled central three and rampaging wing backs.
Villa have been a little inconsistent on the road so far this season but their impressive victory at Old Trafford last weekend should boost their confidence and in their current state, Spurs are there for the taking. Back the winners to pile on the pressure.
