Saturday’s column has picked out Luis Diaz as Liverpool’s main danger along with Spurs’ deadly duo Son Heung-min and Harry Kane…
The big games just keep on coming for Liverpool, and it’s yet another pivotal game in the Premier League title race as they host Tottenham at Anfield.
Every single game from here on in for the Reds means something as they’ll need to win all of them to stand a chance of claiming an incredible quadruple.
While Man City having an extra day to recover from their Champions League defeat will help them, Liverpool earning three points and going top of the table on Saturday night can at least put Pep Guardiola’s side under pressure.
Antonio Conte’s Spurs side though offer by far the toughest test either of the title chaser face in their run-in, as they chase a top four spot and in Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have the deadliest attacking duo around.
Liverpool have had a league-best 12 home clean sheets this season, but they’ve conceded in seven of the last 10 at home to Spurs, and you sense that one goal will not be enough for three points this time around.
Stylistically Spurs set-up perfectly for taking on Liverpool, being comfortable to defend and having terrific pace on the break, they’ll certainly create chances.
Kane and Son both scored in the reverse fixture, but at Anfield and with Virgil van Dijk back after missing that game we’ll temper expectations.
Kane and Son can still be backed for a shot on target with relative confidence though.
For Liverpool, we all know the dangers and they’re priced accordingly, but Luis Diaz still has a touch of value about him at 1.9110/11 in the score or assist market.
He’s played his way into a starting spot for this big game, and can repay that faith by getting a goal involvement.
