Saturday FA Cup Tips: Cautiously back undervalued Swindon

In-form Swindon are such a big price against Walsall that Dan Fitch is backing them Draw No Bet, as he previews the 3pm kicks offs from Saturday’s FA Cup second round games.

FA Cup Second Round
Saturday 4 December, 15:00

Cheltenham in fine form

Wimbledon 2.3411/8 v Cheltenham 3.02/1; The Draw 3.55/2

It’s a clash between two League One sides, as 17th placed Wimbledon host a Cheltenham side in twelfth. Cheltenham have only lost one of their last eleven games (W5 D5), so back them in the Draw No Bet market at 2.26/5, against a Wimbledon side in indifferent form.

Sutton either win or lose

Bristol Rovers 2.486/4 v Sutton United 2.8615/8; The Draw 3.55/2

Sutton are sixth in League Two, largely due to their resistance towards drawing, with their last 16 league games seeing them either win or lose (W10 L6). Against a Bristol Rovers team that are 16th in League Two, Sutton should win and are 2.8615/8 to do so.

Hosts are value

Burton 2.021/1 v Port Vale 3.412/5; The Draw 3.613/5

Port Vale are fifth in League Two, but have lost two of their last three league games (W1). League One side Burton have won their last two home games without conceding and look value to claim victory at 2.021/1.

Visitors can avoid defeat

Cambridge 2.111/10 v Exeter 3.052/1; The Draw 3.412/5

Exeter are currently third in League Two and on a run in which they’ve only lost one of their last 22 games (W10 D11). With 16th placed Cambridge not playing particularly well in League One, back the visitors to avoid defeat in the Double Chance market at 1.75/7.

Class will tell for Shrewsbury

Carlisle 3.185/40 v Shrewsbury 2.166/5; The Draw 3.412/5

Even with home advantage, a Carlisle side that are 22nd in the table, are fairly big outsiders. Shrewsbury are doing nothing special in League One, but should have too much class for the hosts and are worth backing at 2.166/5.

Mansfield can avoid defeat

Doncaster 2.265/4 v Mansfield 3.55/2; The Draw 3.412/5

There might be a division between League One’s Doncaster and Mansfield from League Two, but it’s the underdogs that are in the better form. Mansfield have won six of their last seven games (L1), while Doncaster have failed to score in their last four (D1 L3). Back Mansfield in the Double Chance market at 1.738/11.

Ipswich will not concede in victory

Ipswich 1.511/2 v Barrow 6.411/2; The Draw 4.47/2

League Two’s Barrow have failed to score in any of their last four games and that could be key to finding some value for the hosts. Ipswich are not in great form in League One, but look too big at 2.65 to win to nil.

Game will be more competitive than odds suggest

Leyton Orient 2.186/5 v Tranmere 3.412/5; The Draw 3.65

Though they have the home draw, Leyton Orient look too short here. Both clubs are in League Two, with Orient eighth and Tranmere just two points behind in tenth, with a game in hand. Tranmere are in the better form and this should be competitive. Both teams to score is 1.738/11.

Lincoln park bus regularly

Lincoln 1.574/7 v Hartlepool 6.611/2; The Draw 4.216/5

Neither of these sides are playing well. Lincoln are 18th in League One, while Hartlepool are 17th in League Two. Five of Lincoln’s last six games have seen under 2.5 goals land and that bet is available at 2.0521/20.

Another win for Pompey

Portsmouth 1.538/15 v Harrogate 5.85/1; The Draw 3.8514/5

Seventh placed Harrogate are doing well in League Two, but Portsmouth are a division higher and have won each of their last six games. Pompey have kept clean sheets in five of those wins and are 2.77/4 to win to nil.

Swindon in form

Walsall 2.6213/8 v Swindon 2.727/4; The Draw 3.412/5

With Walsall 14th in League Two and Swindon flying high in fourth, the value is clearly with the visitors. Swindon have won nine of their last 13 games across all competitions (D2 L2) and are 1.9110/11 in the Draw No Bet market.
