Everton v Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday night throws up a 13/10 shots bet which has landed in eight of the player’s 10 starts this season.
“The Everton midfielder has been given more licence to get forward by new (soon to be old?) boss Rafa Benitez and his box-to-box presence is reflected in his shots stats.”
Abdoulaye Doucoure has featured on Betting.Betfair already this season in terms of the shots markets but the layers don’t appear to have learned their lesson.
The Everton midfielder has been given more licence to get forward by new (soon to be old?) boss Rafa Benitez and his box-to-box presence is reflected in his shots stats.
Doucoure has hit 2+ shots in eight of his 10 starts this season, including both since his return from injury just over a week ago.
With the Toffees still without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the home side will need the likes of Demarai Gray and Doucoure to contribute with runs from deep as they bid to improve a poor goals record without their star striker – they’ve scored just four in their last seven games, six of which have been lost.
With a growing sense of crisis around the club following last week’s derby thrashing, the team should know that they need to give it a proper go in front of their increasingly-irritated fans at Goodison Park and so Doucoure and co firing off a few shots to get the crowd on its feet would be no surprise.
Arsenal are going well – they’ll move fifth with a win here – but the shots-conceded table shows a different picture.
They are in the bottom half when it comes to shots conceded, giving up more than 14 per game. To put that into some context, Man City’s record of just under 6.5 is the best with Burnley the only side giving up more than 16 shots per match.
All things considered, 13/10 about Doucoure managing at least two shots in this game looks a great price.
