Our football props column has 5/2 and 15/1 card bets for Friday night’s Turin derby in Serie A.
Friday is derby day in Turin.
The last seven meetings have all seen 40+ booking points with 60+ hit in five of them.
Torino may not have beaten their local rivals since 2015 but this looks likely to be more competitive than many contests since given Juventus’ relative struggles this season, while the visitors are much improved from the side who battled against relegation last term.
Referee Davide Massa is fairly average for Serie A – he’s showing 4.63 yellow cards per game and has also produced three reds in his eight matches – so I’m perfectly happy to look to the card markets here.
Juve’s Juan Cuadrado looks a strong candidate to be shown a card at 5/2.
With Danilo suspended, he’s likely to fill in at right-back and has already been carded in six of his 23 starts this season.
What really makes the bet is his record in this derby – five cards in 12 starts – one which makes his odds here look big.
Torino slightly favour the left in terms of attacking so the Colombian should be kept fairly busy, while Massa has booked Cuadrado when their paths have crossed on two of the last three occasions in Serie A.
I’ll take Cuadrado as a single but I’m also keen to get a Torino player on board.
While the obvious option is midfielder Sasa Lukic – booked in three of his six Turin derbies and carded six times already this season – he’s no bigger than 6/5.
The value looks to be in siding with centre-back Bremer at 10/3.
He’s also received six cards this season, including in each of his last three games.
The Brazilian will clearly be facing one of his sterner challenges of the season with Juve potentially starting with a front three of Paulo Dybala, Dusan Vlahovic and Alvaro Morata.
His foul average of 1.8 is pretty high for a centre-back.
The staking plan is therefore two-thirds on the Cuadrado single and one third on the Cuadrado-Bremer double, which pays around 15/1.
