Our football props column turns to Spain on Friday where a cards bet provides the foundation for a 12/1 Bet Builder…
“The central midfielder has been carded seven times in his 20 starts this season (and he’s started the last 10).”
Las Palmas v Malaga

There’s not a huge amount of football taking place on Friday but from a props perspective one which stands out is in the Spanish second division.
Here we’ve got two of the bottom four in the fair-play table, plus a referee who sits fifth in the division for cards shown.
Malaga are the dirtiest team in the Segunda Division, at least when judged on cards received, with Las Palmas fourth. Referee Oliver de la Fuente Ramos averages over 5.5 cards per game.
It therefore looks worth backing the visitors’ Jozabed Sanchez in the player-card market.
The central midfielder has been carded seven times in his 20 starts this season (and he’s started the last 10).
I did consider doubling him up with team-mate Paulino de la Fuente but the winger (10 cards in 34 appearances and 10/3 here) has been on the bench in recent games. Look out for the team news.
Instead, my Bet Builder double will be completed by a goalscorer bet, namely Las Palmas’ Kirian Rodriguez to score.
Having often played wide this season, the midfielder has been more centrally of late and has taken advantage by scoring in three of his last five games.
Here, he’s playing for the odds-on favourites who are unbeaten in their last six, winning four, to maintain their play-off bid.
Malaga are at the other end of the table – still not safe from the drop having won just one of their last seven. They’ll be without two key men here after red cards last week and so it’s not hard to see the hosts being on top.
At 7/2, Rodriguez looks a big price to score.
Add him to the card bet and you get a Bet Builder price of around 12.5.
