Football Bet of the Day: Visitors always ready to spring a surprise

After successfully laying an odds-on favourite last night, Kev’s trying to repeat the trick in Bolivia.

“Royal Pari have lost their last three home games in the league, and have clearly been distracted by their efforts in the Copa Sudamericana.”

Lay Royal Pari at [1.57]

Hosts to suffer more woes at home

Royal Pari v Always Ready

I do always enjoy this column’s visits to Cheltenham, although don’t tell any of my old Gloucester schoolmates that, or I’ll end up in the Severn. The Robins did us proud again last night, as they stopped in-form Bury in their tracks with a 1-1 draw, giving us a winner.

We’re off to Bolivia now, because there’s a clash of two clubs with superb names, Royal Pari v Always Ready.

Royal Pari have made a dreadful start to the Primera Division season, picking up a measly six points from their nine games so far. They have doubtless been distracted by their efforts in the Copa Sudamericana, where they edged out Venezuelan side Monagas on penalties after a tense tie. Now Royal Pari, who finished third in the clausura championship, must address a run of four straight league defeats.

Always Ready, from El Alto, won promotion from the second tier last season. They have lost three of their five away games so far, but their home form has kept them afloat. The only points they have managed on their travels have been at Sport Boys and Guabira, who are both below them in the table, but they have at least scored in all but one of their away games.

Royal Pari based last season’s success on strong home form, so their recent slump at the Estadio Juan Carlos Duran has been a big surprise. Against a newly-promoted side it makes sense for them to be favourites, but should they really be trading at [1.57]?

I think that price is too short, and I’ll lay the hosts here.
