Backing Ludogorets in Bulgaria is usually a good idea, and Kev’s backing them to reach a cup final tonight.
Dominant hosts to reach final
Ludogorets v Levski Sofia
Wednesday 13 April, 17:00
We suffered a case of boredom in Burton last night, as our boys Wigan were held 0-0 at Burton Albion. With the smell of hops in our nostrils, we trudge disconsolately away.
There’s always another chance, and our shot at redemption takes place in Bulgaria today. Perennial champions Ludogorets are up against Levski Sofia in the Bulgarian Cup semi-finals, and I’m backing the hosts to progress.
Ludogorets have been the dominant force in Bulgarian football in the 21st century. They have won ten league titles from 2012 onwards, and they have also lifted the Bulgarian Cup in 2012 and 2014. They are on course to win the league again, as they are 12 points clear at the top. They have won seven of their last eight league matches, and at home they have won 13 of the last 14.
Levski Sofia are fifth in the league and on decent form, with seven wins from their last ten league games. They lost 2-1 at Ludogorets a month ago, and lost the reverse fixture to them 4-2. Indeed, Ludogorets have won the clubs’ last nine meetings. Seven of those matches have featured at least two goals.
I’ll back Ludogorets to win this and Over 1.5 Goals on the Sportsbook at 1.9210/11.
