The Daily Acca: Timbers to have their fans beaming

Colorado to keep the goals flowing

Bet 1: Back BTTS in Minnesota United v Colorado Rapids @ 6/10 – KO 01:00 BST (Thurs)

The Loons are third in the Western Conference but their seven match unbeaten run came to an end in Dallas at the weekend. They went down 5-3 in an eight goal thriller, but they are back on home soil tonight – a place where they have only been beaten once this season.

The Rapids are down in 11th with little chance of making the Play-offs, but they are battling on, and have won their last two matches. They were both at home – 6-3 and 2-1 victories – but they just concede far too many goals.

Both teams should be able to find the net tonight as although the hosts have kept three clean sheets on the bounce on this ground, the visitors have scored in eight of their 10 on the road this term – including their five most recent ones.

Points to stay in Utah

Bet 2: Back Real Salt Lake @ 19/20 – KO 03:00 BST (Thurs)

The Seattle Sounders are in second place in the Western Conference, but their recent form is a bit sketchy. They have won just one of their last four MLS outings – and three of those were at home.

Brian Schmetzer’s men have won their last two away games, but prior to that they had gone eight without a success – falling to five defeats in the process.

The selection meanwhile have climbed to sixth thanks to two straight victories, and in front of their own fans they have taken 19 points from a possible 21 of late.

Chicago’s Fire to burn out

Bet 3: Back Portland Timbers @ 3/4 – KO 04:00 BST (Thurs)

The Oregon based club are playing catch-up this year as not only did they have games in hand over their rivals, they also had to play almost exclusively away from home in the early months of the campaign.

They are only in eighth place in the standings, but 16 of their 23 have been played on the road, and they still have at least one game in hand.

At Providence Park it’s two convincing victories in a row – 4-0 and 3-1 – and four of their last six there were wins, with the other two being draws.

Opponents, Chicago Fire, did win their most recent away outing, but it was their first three points of the season on their travels, as prior to that it had been eight defeats and three draws.
