Goals at a premium at Ibrox
Bet 1: Back Under 2.5 Goals in Rangers v St Johnstone @ 6/5 – KO 19:45 BST
Glasgow Rangers have started their Scottish Premiership season with a couple of wins to nil, and while I expect them to record another victory this evening, I can’t see it being a high-scoring affair.
Despite having a fantastic record of 11 wins from 14 home league matches last term, they didn’t tend to rack up a huge amount of goals – with six of their final seven outings at Ibrox seeing this selection land.
St Johnstone have only played once so far this season – drawing 1-1 at Dundee United. They are a side that tend to keep things tight, and their last seven away games of the previous campaign all had two goals or fewer.
PSG to suffer more Champions League heartbreak
Bet 2: Back Atalanta 11/4 – KO 20:00 BST
Atalanta are the new-boys on the Champions League block, and not only do I think that they could cause an upset tonight by knocking out PSG, I believe that they can go on and lift the trophy.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s men play without fear and rack up goals for fun. They could have won Serie A, but they lost momentum when Juventus were given a couple of dodgy penalties against them, enabling the Old Lady to salvage a point in Turin.
PSG are notorious bottlers in this competition, and they are clearly hindered by the fact that they don’t face strong enough teams, week in week out. I just can’t be having them as the favourites for this tie.
Pordenone to cruise into he final
Bet 3: Back Pordenone @ 31/20 – KO 20:00 BST
The selection finished fourth in Italy’s Serie B, and they have one foot in the Play-off final, thanks to their 0-1 away win in the first leg of this tie.
Frosinone needed extra time to reach the semis, and they didn’t finish the regular campaign in good form either. They went into lockdown on the back of a draw and a defeat, and they won just one of their 10 post lockdown – losing five of them.
It is also worth noting that when these two sides met here in August 2019, the hosts ran out 3-0 winners.
