Jude Bellingham is the subject of Friday’s props column with the stats showing he’s always likely to lay on a goal at home for Dortmund. Paul Higham has the lowdown…
“Bellingham has bagged eight of his nine assists in all competitions at home this season, and with Haaland gagging for a goal the Englishman can be the man to lay it on.”
Whisper it, but we’ve got half a title race on our hands in Germany. Bayern Munich’s defeat last week coupled with Dortmund’s magnificent comeback win closed the gap to six points, which they can make three with a win over Freiburg on Friday night.
Freiburg are having a fine season themselves in fourth place in the Bundesliga, but have a rotten record in Dortmund that even the fact there’s hardly any fans in won’t help them with.
And Dortmund are still the Bundesliga’s best home team – they’ve won as many points on their own patch as Bayern (24) but have played a game less.
There’s always plenty of entertainment in Dortmund home games, with the hosts scoring in every game so far and an average of just over four total goals per game being scored.
Erling Haaland is going through something of a goal scoring drought for him, having not scored in his last two games, so expect him to get at least one, but at tiny prices.
Instead, we’re looking at Jude Bellingham, who returned from suspension with a goal in their comeback win over Frankfurt last time out, but it’s Bellingham the provider we’re after here.
The former Birmingham star has laid on nine goals in all competitions this season, and eight of those have come at home.
With Haaland there and keen to get a goal then Bellingham will be heavily involved in a lot of the set-up play, it’s reasonable to think he’s got a great chance of another assist at an attractive prices of 4.57/2.
