There’s a big game in Germany tonight, and Kevin Hatchard expects to see goals as Borussia Dortmund take on Bayern Munich.

A Swedish sickener kicked off our week, as Orebro did exactly what we needed them to for 88 minutes, only to then concede a winning goal at the death in a 1-0 defeat. What’s the Swedish word for gut-punch?
We move on, and take in a glamour tie tonight between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the DFL Supercup. This is the German equivalent of the Community Shield or the Trophee des Champions, and these two teams have contested seven of the last nine editions.
Both of these German giants have new coaches at the helm, and they have made differing starts to the season. New BVB boss Marco Rose has overseen a 3-0 win over When Wiesbaden in the DFB Cup, and a highly impressive 5-2 demolition of a decent Eintracht Frankfurt side in their Bundesliga opener. The phenomenon that is Erling Haaland has already made his presence felt, with five goals and three assists in just two competitive appearances.
Record champions Bayern have brought in Julian Nagelsmann to replace Hansi Flick, and his start to life in Bavaria has been mixed.
A pre-season littered with defeats was followed by a chaotic 1-1 draw at Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. Bayern’s high defensive line afforded Gladbach plenty of opportunities to attack, but going forward, Nagelsmann’s side did carry a goal threat. Robert Lewandowski, who scored a record 41 Bundesliga goals last season, bashed in his first league strike of the campaign.
If you look at recent meetings between these sides, they are full of goals. All three meetings last term featured at least five goals, and if you stretch back further, an Over 3.5 Goals bet has landed in eight of the last 11.
You could back Over 3.5 Goals outright on the Exchange at 1.981/1, but I’m going to use the Sportsbook’s Bet Builder to double up an Over 2.5 Goals bet with Erling Haaland to score. Haaland averages pretty much a goal a game during his BVB career, and the Norwegian sensation scored in all three meeting with Bayern last term.
