The Daily Acca: Leicester to thwart City at the Etihad

Milan’s downwards spiral to continue

Bet 1: Back Bologna +1 Goal @ 5/4 – KO 19:30 BST

AC Milan are throwing away their chance of qualifying for Europe next season as the once challengers for a Champions League place, are now struggling to even get a spot in the Europa.

A run of just one win in seven in Serie A – four of which were defeats – has seen them drop to seventh, and while they have a game in hand over Torino and Roma above them, I wouldn’t back them to win it.

That’s why I am taking Bologna tonight with a one goal head-start. Siniša Mihajlović’s men are only in 15th, but they are in great form.

A total of six wins from their last eight matches – just one defeat – have all but confirmed their safety, but I doubt that they will suddenly down tools at the San Siro.

Spoils to be shared in the French second tier

Bet 2: Back The Draw in Niort v Lorient @ 13/5 – KO 19:45 BST

The visitors are clinging on to the final promotion play-off place in Ligue Two, but they can move up to fourth with a victory over Niort this evening.

It’s no easy task winning on this ground however, as the hosts have only been beaten four times in front of their own fans this term.

They don’t win many though, and with seven of their last nine at home ending all square, the price on the draw looks appealing at 13/5. Even more so when you consider that Lorient have won just one of their last four on the road.

Rodgers to do Liverpool a huge favour

Bet 3: Back The Draw in Man City v Leicester @ 15/2 – KO 20:00 BST

The big game of the day comes from the Etihad, and I wouldn’t say it was an exaggeration to suggest that it will pretty much decide the Premier League title race.

If Manchester City win, I really can’t see them not beating Brighton on the final day, but if they drop points, I very much doubt that Liverpool will fail to beat Wolves at Anfield.

Pep Guardiola’s side are heavy favourites to win this game, but Leicester have been playing some really good stuff since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers, and they have been getting the results too.

It’s also worth noting that the Foxes have an excellent recent record against City. They have lost just three of their last nine matches against them inside of 90 minutes, and they beat them at the King Power on Boxing Day.
