Our football props column is taking on a PSG side shorn of its South American stars when they host high-flying Angers on Friday night…
“The Angers captain (Traore) has managed a shot in five of his nine matches and a shot on target in four of them, the main threat coming aerially from set plays.”

I mentioned a few weeks ago how PSG do tend to concede plenty of shots, despite their general dominance of Ligue 1.
That’s continued since then and they are currently averaging 11 shots per game against them. To give that some perspective, Angers’ figure is just 7.78.
That immediately suggests there could be a spot of value in backing the visitors in the shot markets, especially given they are priced up at 17/2 to win the match.
That could be a decent bet in itself given their hosts will be missing most of their South American contingent – Lionel Messi, Angel di Maria, Neymar, Marquinhos and Keylor Navas were all in action in Thursday’s World Cup qualifiers so won’t play here.
Of course, PSG’s squad depth is good but it’s undeniable that losing so many regulars will create some problems and Angers have the ability to capitalise.
They’ve made an excellent start to the season and sit fourth coming into this match.
Exciting teenager Mohamed-Ali Cho has been the eyecatcher but sadly the layers have priced him up cautiously in the shot markets.
The one who does make appeal, particularly given the absence of regular keeper Navas and Marquinhos (Sergio Ramos still isn’t ready either) is defender Ismael Traore.
The Angers captain has managed a shot in five of his nine matches and a shot on target in four of them, the main threat coming aerially from set plays. The fact that only Metz win more fouls than Angers in Ligue 1 is a good thing for the bet.
I’ll take the safer option and add Traore 1+ shot to both teams to score, a bet which has landed in the majority of both teams’ matches this season.
Angers have scored in every away game so far and are unlikely to go all defensive here.
The double pays just over 11/4.
