Plenty of action on Tuesday night to pick from but we’re heading to Spain for the mouthwatering Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.

There’s plenty of needle and history in this game, with Atletico knocking Liverpool out of the tournament in the last 16 in 2020 even though they were largely on the back foot throughout that second leg.

The Spanish champions have Luis Suarez in their ranks now of course to add even more spice to the fixture, but it’s his former side Liverpool who arrive in far better form after a superb start to the season.

Jurgen Klopp took some stick for not making big signings in the summer but in Mohamed Salah he’s got the best player in the world right now and if he can show that again against Diego Simeone’s stubborn side then the European football world will really have to take notice.

And Ballon d’Or voting is still going on right about now…

Anyway, it’s Liverpool’s attack against Atletico’s regimented defence here – the Reds have played 11 games so far this season, scoring in every one and bagging three goals or more in eight of those, including in all six away games (W5 D1) so they’ll take some stopping, even for a side like Atletico.

There are injury worries for Atleti but they did have the weekend off following the international break, so they should be well rested and have kept four clean sheets in 10 games.

In the Champions League it’s a similar story as Liverpool beat Porto 5-1 and Milan 3-2 while Atleti needed a late penalty to rob 10-man Milan and drew 0-0 at home to Porto.

So, there’s plenty to go on in terms of picking out our favourites combination of stats bets as for this game we’re looking at compiling a nice Bet Builder to fill our boots with.

Any Bet Builder for this game should contain some element of Mo Salah in it – he’s only failed to score in one Liverpool game so far this season and has been quite comfortably the best player around recently.

He’s fired in 38 shots with 19 on target and has supplied four assists to go along with his 10 goals he’s scored already, and he’s still odds-against to score here, mainly due to Atletico’s defensive reputation.

At a slightly better price though let’s take him to have two shots on target – something he’s managed five times in 10 games but crucially in both of his Champions League outings so far.

That’s not quite enough for us though as we search for an extra bit of value so we’re tagging on Liverpool to win more corners than Atletico, with Klopp’s side always willing to use the wide areas to get forward and they’ve won the corner battle in every game bar against Man City this season.

Atletico lost out to Barca in the corner count last time out and have been nowhere near as prolific in the corner charts so looks like a no-brainer to tag that on for a nice Bet Builder double.
