The Daily Acca: Kop to roar Liverpool home at Anfield

There are some massive matches in Europe this evening and the headline of Paul Robinson’s Daily Acca is a Liverpool win over Man City. Here are his selections:

Reds overpriced to complete Anfield double over City

Bet 1: Back Liverpool @ 2/1 – KO 19:45 BST

Given that the last time these two teams met, Liverpool ran out 4-3 winners – they led 4-1 with only six minutes to go – I have to feel like 2/1 is an excellent price for them to make it back to back wins over Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side are still in excellent form, but they were back in January when they were beaten here. Sergio Aguero is also missing this evening which is a blow, and I don’t trust their defence to keep the Liverpool front three at bay.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have only lost once at home all season – an FA Cup fixture against West Brom – and when they last played on this ground they put five past Watford.

Roma to go on the offensive at the Nou Camp

Bet 2: Back BTTS in Barcelona v Roma @ 1/1 – KO 19:45 BST

The Italians are the massive underdogs for this Champions League tie and if they are to have any chance of going through I have to believe that they will need to score an away goal tonight.

The hosts are miles clear at the top of La Liga, but I’m not convinced that they are their vintage best. Roma are a decent side on their day, and in Edin Dzeko they have a striker who knows how to put the ball in the net.

Barcelona don’t concede many goals at home, but Italian teams are the masters of the sucker-punch, and even money for both teams to score is a good bet.

Dundee to get on the scoresheet at Celtic Park

Bet 3: Back BTTS in Celtic v Dundee @ 11/10 – KO 19:45 BST

Celtic are a long way clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and they should extend that lead to 12 points with victory against Dundee.

I do quite fancy the visitors to get on the scoresheet however as they have netted at least once in seven of their last eight on their travels.

Brendan Rodgers‘ men have kept four clean sheets on the bounce at Celtic Park, but Dundee won’t sit back and try and nick a point like many other teams do.
