There are some cracking fixtures in tonight’s Champions League and Paul Robinson has put together a Daily Acca that has been boosted from 10/1 to 12/1. Here are his selections:
Atletico to be turned over in Milan
Bet 1: Back AC Milan @ 9/5 – KO 20:00 BST
Atletico Madrid are the marginal favourites to win in Milan tonight, but even with all of their recent Champions League experience, that has to the be the wrong price.
Diego Simeone’s La Liga champions have been a bit disappointing of late – winning just one of their last four matches. They were beaten 1-0 at Alaves in the league on Saturday, and they could only draw their opening match in Group A – 0-0 at home to Porto.
AC Milan lost a pulsating clash at Anfield in their Champions League opener, but in Serie A, they have taken 16 points from a possible 18, with the only blemish being a draw with Juventus.
City to continue their dominance over PSG
Bet 2: Back Man City @ 7/5 – KO 20:00 BST
Manchester City beat PSG home and away in the Champions League semi-finals last season, so at 7/5 to complete the hat-trick, I make them a good bet.
Lionel Messi wasn’t around for those fixtures last year, and he might not be around for tonight’s game, even though he’s in the squad. A knee injury could mean a place on the bench for the Argentine, but even if he starts, City are still the value.
Pep Guardiola’s men put in a stellar showing at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, which well and truly put that 0-0 draw with Southampton behind them. They are much better defensively than they were, and are more of an all-round team than the French side.
No Portuguese worries for Liverpool
Bet 3: Back Liverpool @ 3/4 – KO 20:00 BST
The Reds have been on fire when it comes to goals this season, and with 15 to their name in the league, they don’t only top the table when it comes to points.
Jurgen Klopp’s side also scored three times in their opening Group B fixture, and they needed all three too, as Milan scored twice against them.
Tonight they travel to Porto, and while the Portuguese club are a dangerous team, I just don’t think that they have the firepower to live with the 2019 winners.
