Opportunity for Porto to take charge
Having emerged undefeated from their games with their Group D rivals Schalke and Galatasaray, Porto now have an excellent opportunity to take charge of their own destiny by beating Lokomotiv Moscow.
The Russians appear to be there for the taking. They have lost both of their Champions League games without scoring a goal and are currently sixth in the Premier League having won just five of their eleven matches (D3 L3).
Porto started their Champions League campaign with a useful away draw at Schalke, before beating Galatasaray at home. With two consecutive games to come against Lokomotiv, they can take a huge step towards qualification by continuing their winning ways.
Back in Portugal, a recent 1-0 away loss at Benfica ended a run of six games without defeat. On Friday, Porto bounced back with a 6-0 cup win over Vila Real, in which Sergio Conceicao was able to heavily rotate.
Porto can keep clean sheet run going
With Porto’s first choice XI very fresh, they have to be fancied to take all three points.
Whether the available price for a straight victory at just over evens is big enough, is another matter. Lokomotiv have after all, won their last two games, following an impressive 1-0 victory at CSKA with a home win over Rostov at the weekend.
Combining an away win with a clean sheet makes for a more appealing price. Porto have kept clean sheets in four of their last five games and can be backed to win to nil at [3.1].
