With Atletico Madrid drawing a lot of games this season, Dan Fitch thinks that they will contain buoyant Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund’s irresistible attack meets Atletico’s immovable defence
Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid have made perfect starts to their Champions League campaigns in Group A, while also performing well in their domestic competitions.
Dortmund lead the Bundesliga by three points. Their 4-0 thrashing of Stuttgart at the weekend was their sixth consecutive win. Dortmund have not lost all season (P13 W11 D2) and Lucien Favre’s team can’t stop scoring, averaging 4.33 goals per game over the past six matches.
That attacking prowess will be put to the test by one of Europe’s most reliable defences. Unusually, Atletico have conceded in both of their Champions League wins this season, but they will surely be taking the threat of Dortmund more seriously than their previous opponents Monaco and Club Brugge.
Atletico are fifth in La Liga and are drawing too many games (P9 W4 D4 L1). Yet with Barcelona not at their best and Real Madrid in turmoil, only two points separates Atletico from the top of the table.
Points will be shared
This is a game that could reveal much about these aspirant clubs. Right now their respective claims to win this group, challenge for the Champions League and their domestic leagues, are all in doubt.
As such it’s extremely difficult to predict how this one could go and in such instances there is an appeal in sitting on the fence with the draw. This is especially true when considering Atletico’s recent run of stalemates and their manager Diego Simeone’s natural conservatism against quality opposition. At [3.4] the draw is the value bet in this match.
