Football Bet of the Day: Defences to do some Roman roaming

After a winner in Germany, Kev’s whisking us away to the Italian capital.

Lazio v Dynamo Kiev

We enjoyed a glass of Kolsch in Cologne’s Altstadt last night, after Fortuna Köln bashed Chemnitzer to land us our first winner of the week. Alaaf, as local revellers would say.

We’ll head to the Italian capital now, because Lazio are in action against Dynamo Kiev in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Lazio suffered a heartbreaking loss to Juve at the weekend, as Paulo Dybala grabbed the winner with virtually the last touch of the game. That wrapped up an awful week for the Roman side, after they crashed out of the Copa Italia on penalties against Milan at the semi-final stage.

Lazio have only won three of their last ten games in all competitions, and they need a pick-me-up against a Dynamo side that squeezed past AEK Athens on away goals in the previous round.

Dynamo are trying to chase down league leaders Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, but they are taking this tournament seriously, and they have the capability to take a chunk or two out of the Lazio defence. Lazio have only kept one clean sheet in their last six UEL matches, while Dynamo rattled in 15 goals in the group stage, and in all competitions, they have scored at least once in 14 of their last 16 games.

This could be quite a lively affair, so I’ll back both teams to find the net.
