Sunday Football Tips: Gallagher part of shots masterplan

Our football props column is recommending a 16/5 shots bet in Sunday’s Premier League game between Crystal Palace and Leicester.

“Gallagher has managed 2+ shots in three of his five Premier League games since his loan move from Chelsea.”

I mentioned the threat carried by Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher earlier this week.

He failed to deliver the 2+ shots predicted against Brighton but, just as it proved with Shane Duffy on Saturday, it’s worth keeping the faith with him.

Gallagher has added plenty to Palace this season, his runs from midfield getting him into the box often. That’s resulted in good shot returns and despite his failure against Brighton on Monday, he’s managed 2+ shots in three of his five Premier League games since his loan move from Chelsea.

Notably, Leicester are conceding considerably more shots per game (15) than Brighton (11.2) so far this season so there’s clearly scope for Gallagher’s output to return to 2+ levels.

It’s worth adding Gallagher to a shots Bet Builder alongside Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

The Belgian midfielder has got five shots away in each of his last two Premier League games (against Burnley and Brighton) and overall has landed 2+ shots in three of six this term.

With Palace being a side who like to defend deep, Tielemans should get chances to get towards the edge of the box from where he often likes to fire off shots.

In terms of the attacking side of his game, Tielemans has benefitted from the regular presence of Wilfred Ndidi in the team.

Ndidi is an injury doubt for this match, which is something of a worry. However, Boubakary Soumare has been touted as his replacement in the defensive-midfield role, as opposed to Tielemans.

It may be worth checking the team news first but I’m happy to add Gallagher 2+ shots and Tielemans 2+ shots together to get a price of 16/5.
