The curtain comes down on another Premier League season and Paul Robinson is taking a punt on a Premier League legend.
Pep Guardiola has announced that the Argentine is winning his fitness battle, and said that he will play if he can.
The Headline Pick: Mohamed Salah – Crystal Palace (H)
There isn’t much on the line on the final day of the Premier League season – top four and leading scorer – and this week’s headline pick is fighting for both.
Mo Salah is level on goals with Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot, and with Crystal Palace the visitors to Anfield, I am hopeful of a very prosperous afternoon for the Egyptian.
He didn’t deliver any attacking returns at Turf Moor, but prior to that that he had found the net in three of his previous four matches.
Palace have conceded eight goals across their last three outings, and I very much doubt that they will put up much of a fight here.
It is 11/2 for Salah to score a hat-trick on Sunday.
The Budget Pick: Michail Antonio – Southampton (H)
After a spell out with an injury, Michail Antonio has returned to the West Ham team and delivered three goals in four games – racking up 26 points in total.
The Hammers complete a fine campaign at home to Southampton on Sunday, and the visitors rarely keep a clean sheet.
David Moyes’ men only need a point to guarantee European football, but I think that they will finish with a bang – led by goals from their joint leading scorer.
The VAR Pick: Patrick Bamford – West Brom (H)
Patrick Bamford has exceeded all expectations this season, scoring 16 goals and assisting another 11. His Leeds team are finishing the campaign with a flourish, and they should be able to make it four wins in a row at Elland Road on Sunday.
West Brom are the visitors and with 11 penalties conceded this season, they have the unfortunate pleasure of topping that particular table.
Leeds are sure to get plenty of possession in the final third in this one, and with the Baggies heading to the Championship, the returning home fans could be in for a treat.
Bamford is 4/6 to find the net against West Brom.
The Sleeper Pick: Jamie Vardy – Tottenham (H)
Last year’s leading scorer hasn’t been able to replicate those exploits this time around, but he still has 13 to his name, and his team’s fixture against Spurs could have plenty of goals.
The Foxes almost certainly have to win to have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League, and Tottenham under Ryan Mason have been pretty attacking.
Vardy has scored just once since GW24, but class is permanent, and I fancy his chances against this Spurs defence.
The Wildcard Pick: Sergio Aguero – Everton (H)
How could I not include this FPL and Premier League legend in his final league outing for Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola has announced that the Argentine is winning his fitness battle, and said that he will play if he can. His teammates will be desperate to help him score against Everton, and with a mere 1.3% ownership, he could be the differential you need if you’re chasing down a mini-league leader.
It’s even money for Aguero to score his 183rd Premier League goal.
