Fantasy Premier League expert Holly Shand highlights five standout performers who could reward a transfer into your FPL team and a winning bet in Double Gameweek 36…

“Saka’s involvement in set pieces for the Gunners has allowed him to return 19 attacking returns this season.”

The Goalscorer Bet: Mo Salah – Spurs (H), Aston Villa (A)

Mo Salah’s third double gameweek of the season brings another option for the Triple Captain chip for those managers with it still remaining. Despite pressure from Heung-Min Son and Cristiano Ronaldo, he remains on top in the Golden Boot race, with 22 goals for the season.

We have seen a drop off in his underlying numbers, but he has two goals and three assists from his last four appearances. He also has game-time secutity after being rested in Gameweek 35, appearing from the bench for 21 minutes against Newcastle United.

The Assist Bet: Dejan Kulusevski – Liverpool (A), Arsenal (H)

Dejan Kulusevski has been sensational since arriving at Spurs, amassing nine assists in 14 appearances, more than any other player in this time. He’s revitalised the Spurs front three in this time: they’ve scored 33 goals across 14 games over this period.

Kulusevski is ranked third for big chances created (6) since Gameweek 24. Two assists from the bench in Gameweek 35 should be enough to cement his starting berth in the Double Gameweek, with two crunch ties as Spurs push for another top four finish.

The Penalty Bet: Richarlison – Leicester (A), Watford (A)

Richarlison will be a key player for Everton in their quest to avoid the drop, having netted four goals and one assist in the five gameweeks since the International Break. He’s top for shots in this period with 23, and second for big chances with five.

Two away games won’t be easy for Everton, but Leicester and Watford have among the worst records for big chances conceded at home and penalties conceded. Richarlison has converted two penalties this season and has scored against both opponents in the reverse fixtures.

The Clean Sheet Bet: Ederson – Newcastle (H), Wolves (A)

Manchester City are hunting their 20th clean sheet of the season this weekend, with Ederson on 19 shut-outs, one behind fellow countryman Alisson on the hunt for the Golden Glove. Ederson kept clean sheets against both of his Gameweek 36 opponents in the reverse fixture.

Pep Guardiola, Man City.jpg

Manchester City will continue to rotate their squad in the Double Gameweek: Pep Guardiola is infamous for this and a big midweek Champions League fixture won’t help. However, Ederson should start all four remaining fixtures this season, barring injury or suspension.

The Attacking Return Bet: Bukayo Saka – Leeds (H), Spurs (A)

Bukayo Saka‘s season continues to excel, he’s third for shots (18) and top for key passes (15) over the last five gameweeks, showcasing his ability to grab both goals and assists. He has two goals and two assists over this time, including two successfully converted spot-kicks.

Saka’s involvement in set pieces for the Gunners has allowed him to return 19 attacking returns this season, the best tally for a young player in the last five seasons. He is narrowly behind Jarrod Bowen as the best value midfielder in the game this season.
