The Daily Acca: Birmingham to beat Derby in this 7/1 boost

Friday’s Daily Acca has been boosted to 7/1, and it features action from England and France. Here are Paul Robinson’s selections:

Leaders to win again

Bet 1: Back Harrogate Town @ 21/20 – KO 19:45 BST

Simon Weaver’s side only finished 17th in League Two last season, but they top the table this time around, and while only five matches have been played, a tally of 13 points is very impressive.

Only Exeter City have been able to stop them winning, and since that draw they have bounced back with two wins – one I the league and one in the cup.

The visitors to Wetherby Road this evening are Newport County, and they finished in fifth last year. A total of seven points from their five outings to date has them down in 15th this term though, and they have been beaten in their last two away games.

Rooney’s Rams to be beaten

Bet 2: Back Birmingham @ 10/11 – KO 19:45 BST

The Blues have only been beaten once this season, and that came at the hands of Bournemouth. Since that defeat they thrashed Luton 5-0 at Kenilworth Road and then picked up a decent point at Oakwell.

Derby have struggled as expected this season, winning just one of their five matches, with scoring goals being their main issue.

They lost their opener at Peterborough, and have also exited the League Cup in an away tie at Sheffield United. I just can’t see them being able to contain an improved Birmingham side.

Goals at both ends in Ligue One

Bet 3: Back BTTS in Lorient v Lille @ 5/6 – KO 19:45 BST

Lille were the surprising champions of Ligue One last season, but it’s all change this year, including a new manager.

Jocelyn Gourvennec started well with a win over PSG in the Trophée des Champions, but in the league it took them four matches to pick up maximum points.

They are yet to keep a clean sheet in Ligue One – conceding nine times – which gives them the joint worst defensive record in the division.

Lorient finished 16th last term, but they have begun brightly with a win and two draws from their first four. This selection would have landed in three of their four outings, and goals should be on the menu again here.
