Paul Robinson kicks off the week with a 16/1 odds boost which starts with a bit of a unique situation in AFCON. Here are his selections:
Commiserations for Comoros
Bet 1: Back Over 3.5 Goals in Cameroon v Comoros @ 4/5 – KO 19:00 GMT
Comoros are being forced to play this game with an outfield player in goal, so although AFCON has been a low-scoring tournament, I expect that to change here.
Cameroon would have been the overwhelming favourites regardless, and they have already scored four times in a game in this competition – a 4-1 victory over Ethiopia in the group stage.
Spoils to be shared at Ewood Park
Bet 2: Back The Draw in Blackburn v Middlesbrough @ 21/10 – KO 19:45 GMT
High-flying, Blackburn, lost their long unbeaten run in the Championship last week, as they were beaten 2-0 at Hull, and while they are back on home soil this evening, they are up against a red-hot, Middlesbrough.
Chris Wilder has got the team playing again, and he has led them to seven wins from their last eight in all competitions – with the sole blemish being a draw at Stoke in December.
They haven’t been blowing their opponents away though – six of their seven victories were by a one-goal margin, and with Rovers doing so well this season, the draw appears to be the best bet at Ewood.
Value to be had on the visitors
Bet 3: Back AC Ajaccio @ 31/20 – KO 19:45 GMT
It’s 16th versus 2nd in France’s Ligue Two this evening, and I am surprised that the visitors aren’t shorter in the betting.
Ajaccio are unbeaten in six in the league, and they have won seven of their last nine – including four of their last five on their travels.
Caen, meanwhile, lost to Sochaux when they were last in action, and it’s just one win in 10 for the Normandy based club.
Their record at home is pretty poor this season too, as they have lost six of their 10 outings in front of their own fans.
