The English Football League has released its full fixture list with matches starting on the weekend of 12 September reports Max Liu…
The Football League fixtures for the 2020/21 season have been released and Championship favourites Norwich [7.2] will travel to Huddersfield on the opening day.
The Canaries were relegated from the Premier League in bottom place but, three weeks before the big kick-off, they’re the favourites on the Exchange to win the Championship title.
Of the other relegated teams, Watford [7.8] are expected to be in contention for the title. But bettors are cool on the chances of Bournemouth [13.0] making an emphatic success of their first season back in the second tier as they start life under new boss Jason Tindall.
Watford will host Middlesbrough [16.5] on the opening weekend while Bournemouth entertain Blackburn [34.0].
Brentford, the team that missed out on promotion by losing the play-off final, are [8.4] to put that behind them and win the title. The Bees begin their campaign at Birmingham.
A new season can be difficult for a team that so narrowly missed out on promotion and much could depend on who stays and leaves Brentford this summer. Strike Ollie Watkins is 1/3 to join Aston Villa this summer.
One thing is for sure – the Championship remains one of the toughest leagues, with 46 fixtures per team across the season. The final day of the regular season will be 8 or 9 May 2021 while the play-off final will take place at Wembley on the weekend of 29 – 31 May.
