Norwich City boss Alex Neil is confident that Alex Tettey will be fit enough to feature against Ipswich in Saturday’s Championship play-off semi-final first-leg tie.

The Norwegian missed the recent league games against Rotherham United and Fulham because of a knee injury but has been able to return to full training this week.

Steven Whittaker and Cameron Jerome could also come into contention for the trip to Portman Road after recent injury concerns.

Norwich are 2.75 to be promoted while Ipswich can be backed at 5.00.

“We are hoping they will be fine,” said Neil. “They have been recovering well but I want to see them take the field and get around the park. What I see in training will determine things.

“Cameron joined in the other day so he should be fine. Everybody else is okay from Fulham so, apart from Lewis Grabban who is suspended, we are looking okay.

“Alex Tettey has this condition with his knee where he doesn’t train every day anyway. We have to monitor his load. He is used to maybe not doing as much as the others and then being prepared for the games. The type of player he is that won’t affect his performance.”
