We’re taking in a game from England’s League One tonight, and Kev’s backing table-toppers Wigan to collect all three points.
“Wigan are in terrific form and chasing a title, while Burton are pretty much safe from the drop and drifting towards the end of the season.”
League leaders to win again
Burton Albion v Wigan
Tuesday 12 April, 19:45
Almeria did their bit for us last night, but our BTTS bet was sunk in Spain by Ponferradina drawing a blank in a 3-0 defeat.
We’ll look to bounce back in the land of Marmite. The divisive spread was first made in a factory in Burton-Upon-Trent in 1902, but we’re hoping that we can all be on the same page tonight. League One leaders Wigan are visiting Burton Albion, and the visitors are in title-winning form.
The Latics have won seven of their last ten league games, including four of the last five. On the road they have won three of the last four. They are three points clear of second-placed MK Dons (who have played two games more) and six points ahead of third-placed Rotherham. The title is theirs to lose.
While Wigan have plenty of motivation and momentum, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton are pretty much safe from the drop (they are ten points above the dropzone), and they are playing like a side that doesn’t have that necessary drive. The Brewers have lost five of their last seven, and they have failed to score in their last three games.
Wigan have the best attack in the league, they have a title to push for and they are facing out-of-form opponents who don’t have a huge amount to play for. Even without the injured James McLean, Wigan have enough firepower to get the job done. I’ll back the visitors to win at 1.865/6.
