Friday Football Tips: Back a Sevilla win but Granada goal

Our Friday column is going for Sevilla to beat Granada but both teams to bag in the La Liga game.

Sevilla’s Spanish title challenge looks to have slipped away with defeat to Barcelona last week leaving them 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid.

A Friday night home win against Granada is now imperative just for Sevilla to keep their Champions League hopes alive with local rivals Real Betis breathing down their necks.

It’s no win in four for Sevilla as three draws and that Barca loss effectively ended their title hopes, but they’re hugely fancied to take three points against Granada – who are still battling relegation.

Julen Lopetegui’s side are still the only La Liga side unbeaten at home this season and they should add another three points here – we just need to decide on the manner of the victory.

Sevilla do like to score two goals – they’ve bagged exactly two in three of their last four home games and in the last three straight home meetings against Granada.

The visitors are the joint-top scorers of the bottom eight so the potential for goals is there, especially as they’ve not managed a clean sheet in their last six Friday night La Liga games.

Couple that with the fact Sevilla have scored twice or more in 71% of their home league games and you fancy the hosts to bag a few – maybe even Anthony Martial will get a goal!

We won’t be backing Martial, but we’ll back a Sevilla victory and both teams to score at a decent price considering recent evidence points to it being a distinct possibility.
