Fantasy Premier League expert Holly Shand highlighs five standout performers who could reward a transfer into your FPL team and a winning bet in Gameweek 31…

“Harry Kane has stolen the show in recent months and has delivered fantasy returns in four consecutive gameweeks.”

The Goalscorer Bet: Mo Salah – Watford (H)

It’s hard to look past Mo Salah for goals this weekend, as Liverpool entertain relegation candidates Watford at Anfield. Salah’s impressive goalscoring form continues, with four goals and one assist in the last four gameweeks. He’s on spot-kicks too which is a crucial source of points.

Liverpool won the reverse fixture 5-0, with Salah scooping a goal and an assist on that occasion. His record against Watford is sensational: he’s scored nine goals in seven appearances, including four at home in 2017/18. Will we see a result of that performance?

The Assist Bet: Mason Mount – Brentford (H)

It’s been a broken schedule for Chelsea this calendar year, but stability is returning and the fixture list is kind, inlcuding a home game against Brentford this week. That puts their assets firmly back on the radar ahead of the weekend, with Mason Mount the pick of the attackers.

Mount has the highest number of fantasy assists for Chelsea in this campaign, with eight. He has one goal and two assists from his last four Premier League appearances. Brentford have conceded five goals in their last four league games, keeping just one clean sheet.

The Penalty Bet: Harry Kane – Newcastle (H)

Harry Kane has stolen the show in recent months and has delivered fantasy returns in four consecutive gameweeks, with five goals and five assists from five fixtures. He has to be in the captaincy conversation ahead of the weekend, sitting top for big chances over this period with eight.

Spurs have won three penalties this season, with Kane having a flawless record from the spot. Newcastle United have conceded six spot kicks, ranking them third highest of all clubs. Kane grabbed a goal and an assist in the reverse fixture back in October.

The Clean Sheet Bet: Joao Cancelo – Burnley (A)

Manchester City have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season, with 17 clean sheets in 29 games. Joao Cancelo has been the main beneficiary of this: he’s the second highest scoring defender in the game this season and is a mainstay of most fantasy squads.

If you sold him for Double Gameweek assets in March, now is the time to jump back on board. He has nine attacking returns for the season and has scooped bonus points in each of the last four games he’s been involved in where City have kept a shut-out.

The Odds-Against Goalscorer Bet: Cristiano Ronaldo – Leicester (H)

Cristiano Ronaldo firmly reannounced himself back on the radar in Gameweek 29 when he bagged a perfect hat-trick against Spurs and the good times could continue in Gameweek 31, when Leicester City visit Old Trafford. The reverse fixture finished 4-2 to the Foxes and we can expect another goal-fest here.

Leicester have improved their defensive record with two clean sheets in their last four games and Jonny Evans has returned to their defence.
