Friday sees a Daily Acca from Italy, England and Spain, and it has been boosted to odds of 11/2. Here are Paul Robinson’s selections:
Verona to delight the home support
Bet 1: Back Verona @ 19/20 – KO 19:45 GMT
Verona are 10th in Serie A, and they put a 1-2 home defeat to Salernitana behind them by winning 4-2 at Sassuolo last Sunday.
Bologna are in 13th, three points behind their opponents here, but their recent form isn’t anywhere near as good. The visitors have been beaten in five of their last six matches, and they failed to score in two of them.
The hosts are actually winless in four in front of their own fans, but prior to that they had won five on the bounce at home, and with Bologna in such bad form, this is a great opportunity to return to winning ways.
Goals to flow at Vicarage Road
Bet 2: Back Over 2.5 Goals in Watford v Norwich @ 9/10 – KO 20:00 GMT
It’s time for the six-pointer cliché now, and when I think of must-win games, I immediately think of goals.
The Hornets’ matches are usually full of them anyway, with their games averaging 3.16 per 90 minutes. A total of 10 of their 19 have seen this selection land, and eight of those came under Claudio Ranieri.
The Canaries managed to beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday, and quite incredibly, they would move two points clear of the relegation zone with a victory tonight.
I wouldn’t rule out that possibility either with the way Watford defend, but one thing I am quite confident of is at least three goals.
Goals at both ends in La Liga
Bet 3: Back BTTS in Espanyol v Betis @ 6/10 – KO 20:00 GMT
Espanyol have been excellent since their promotion back to La Liga, and they start the evening in 11th place. They have gone three matches without a win in all competitions though, so they will be keen to get back on track sooner rather than later.
Their opponents are enjoying an even finer campaign, as they are up in third place – albeit eight points adrift of second.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men beat Alaves 4-0 last weekend, and that came on the back of a Copa del Rey victory over neighbours, Sevilla.
I expect both teams to get on the scoresheet, especially as the hosts have seen all of their last eight end with BTTS backers collecting.
