Two of La Liga’s most-carded teams, Levante and Real Mallorca, meet on Saturday – our football props column is looking to take advantage…
“Levante have hit over 1.5 cards in 18 of their 19 games, while Mallorca’s equivalent stat is 17 of 19.”
These two sides have regularly delivered for cards backers this season and that aspect forms the basis for a solid-looking Bet Builder.
Both are in the top five for bad discipline in La Liga and, in terms of a bet, consistently collect at least two cards a game.
Levante have hit over 1.5 cards in 18 of their 19 games, while Mallorca’s equivalent stat is 17 of 19.
As an added bonus, things got rather tasty when these two met in the reverse fixture, a game Mallorca edged 1-0. There was a touchline bust-up during a match which saw eight cards – four on each team.
The one downside here is the referee appointment which could be better. Jose Figueroa Vazquez is carding below average this season but he showed three to Levante (and two to opponents Celta Vigo) when their paths crossed earlier this term, while his two games against Mallorca saw the islanders hit the over 1.5 mark.
To boost the price further, I’m going to throw in visiting right-back Pablo Maffeo for 1+ shot.
He gets forward well and has managed this in six of his last seven games, actually having 2+ shots in four of those matches.
Winless Levante have the worst defence in the league in terms of goals conceded, while they are also in the top six for shots conceded.
They hit a new low on Monday when losing 5-0 at Villarreal and Mallorca will be looking to take further advantage of their lack of confidence.
Put the three legs together and you get a 7/4 shot.
Easy pickings? We hope so.
