Europa Conference League: Roma will win with style

Roma are scoring regularly under Jose Mourinho and Dan Fitch is backing them to win big against Zorya, as he previews the pick of Thursday’s Conference League action.

Glimt will be dangerous on the road

One of the most intriguing games from the Europa Conference League’s early kick offs, is this closely priced encounter between Bulgaria’s CSKA Sofia and Bodo/Glimt from Norway.

With Roma keeping these teams company in Group C, you have to assume that there is only one other qualification place up for grabs. Glimt are occupying that second position at the moment, behind Roma, having won their opening game 3-1 at home against the Ukrainian side Zorya.

CSKA lost 5-1 away at Roma and are bottom of the group. They’ve conceded in four of their last five games and with Glimt currently unbeaten in eleven games (W9 D2), it’s right that the Norwegians are narrow favourites. Both teams to score is 1.84/5, while you can back Glimt in the Draw No Bet market at 1.910/11.

Goals flowing at Roma

Zorya 9.08/1 v Roma 1.4740/85; The Draw 4.67/2

After winning their first six matches of the season under new manager Jose Mourinho, Roma have lost two of their last three games, including their derby against Lazio at the weekend, in which they were defeated 3-2.

That leaves Roma fourth in Serie A after six games (W4 D0 L2). We have to assume that Roma will get back to winning ways here, especially as they are scoring easily. Their nine games this season have seen Roma score 24 goals, which averages at 2.66 goals-per-game.

This stat could be key in finding value in a Roma win against a Zorya side that conceded three against Glimt. A Roma win and over 2.5 goals is 2.26/5.

Visitors are underestimated

Feyenoord 2.0521/20 v Slavia Prague 3.55/2; The Draw 3.7511/4

Feyenoord will be looking for their first win in the competition, when they host Slavia Prague.

In their opening match in Group E, Feyenoord drew 0-0 at Maccabi Haifa. They have followed that draw with three straight wins in the Eredivisie, scoring two late goals to beat NEC 5-3 at home on Saturday.

Slavia Prague are top of the group after a 3-1 win over the Bundesliga’s Union Berlin and may be a little underestimated here. At the least they should get on the scoresheet and the 1.774/5 for both teams to score looks big, having landed in each of Slavia Prague’s last seven games.

Another draw for Rennes

Vitesse Arnhem 3.39/4 v Rennes 2.255/4; The Draw 3.412/5

Spurs fans will be keeping an eye on this match between their Group G rivals Vitesse and Rennes.

Rennes drew 2-2 at home with Tottenham in their opening game. Their form has been erratic since, losing 2-0 at Marseille, beating Clermont 6-0 and then drawing 1-1 with Bordeaux on Sunday.

Vitesse are top of the group, having won 2-0 at Mura. With Rennes in uncertain form, they look a little short here and the draw seems the value bet at 3.412/5.
