Betfair Ambassador Rivaldo says Cristiano Ronaldo can help United challenge for major silverware, backs Barcelona to overcome their problems and looks forward to seeing Messi and Neymar link up…

Cristiano made a good choice in moving to Manchester United instead of Manchester City or Real Madrid. He is an idol at United and will probably have more respect from fans and press there than in Madrid where he would be under more pressure.

In England, the fans won’t scrutinise every performance and they will be more appreciative of his presence and commitment.

He is making a bold move by returning to the best league in the world at 36-years-old, proving once again that he loves a challenge and has a great personality to embrace any mission and enjoy the journey.

I believe he can make the difference in a Red Devils shirt and will definitely help them pursue

Champions League and Premier League titles this season.

Solskjaer must keep Cavani happy

Many are people arguing that, with Ronaldo’s arrival, Edinson Cavani will lose his place as the main central striker for United. That might be the case if Solskjaer cannot create a rotating system or a tactical system that suits both players.

But there will be a lot of matches in different competitions this season and Solskjaer needs to use both players regularly since neither will enjoy sitting on the bench.

Barcelona are still strong despite departures

Barcelona lost another important player at the end of transfer window.

Antoine Griezmann was loaned to Atletico Madrid, a club he knows very well. The Frenchman is a great talent but he didn’t establish himself as a key player at Barcelona.

The club needed to let some players go and cut salaries for those who have stayed, but I still believe that the squad will create a great bond in the face of difficulties and could produce a winning season in 2021-22.

Big players can leave the club, but Barca will always remain big and it’s crucial that the players focus on challenging in La Liga and the Champions League.

It won’t be easy for PSG in Champions League

With big signings this summer, Paris-Saint are favourites to win the Champions League this season and I agree with that. At least, I agree in theory.

All the teams they face will be determined to beat them because if you manage to beat a team with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, you’ll be making history. For that reason, I’m expecting many tough matches for PSG as opponents raise their games when they face Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Other big clubs, who have lifted the Champions League trophy, will be in contention again. Bayern Munich will be a force under Julian Nagelsmann and Real Madrid, who have Carlo Ancelotti back in the dugout, can never be ruled out.

Richarlison would fit in at PSG

According to the press, PSG may be thinking of signing Richarlison from Everton when Mbappe leaves. I believe that the Brazilian forward has the qualities to do a good job in France.

He is already a key player along with Neymar in the Brazilian national team and has been playing in the best league in the world, so he is ready for any challenge, even a big one like filling Mbappe’s boots.

Richarlison’s numbers should improve in France since playing in Ligue 1 would be easier than the Premier League, so I see it as a good possibility for him.

Messi will bring out best in Neymar

Neymar played a crucial role in Messi’s golden era at Barcelona and now the Argentinian is ready to show his gratitude to the Brazilian at PSG.

For that reason, I believe Messi will help Neymar become a Ballon D’Or winner. Messi certainly knows what it takes to win the award having already won it six times. He may even win his seventh in 2021.
