This could be a really good game in the Bundesliga as Borussia Dortmund host Hoffenheim in what has all the makings of a Friday night shootout.
Dortmund suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Freiburg last time out but that goal at least made it a club-record 34th straight league game in which they’ve scored in.
You’d expect Marco Rose’s side to come roaring back at home but Hoffenheim are not only unbeaten in their two matches (W1 D1) but more importantly their fine recent record against Dortmund has them firmly classed as bogey team status.
Dortmund have been great at home, they’ve won their last five league games at Signal Iduna Park and have scored in all 10 halves of those games.
Hoffenheim, though, have lost just one of their last seven against Dortmund (W3 D3) and are unbeaten in their last three away fixtures which have seen them score nine goals in two entertaining draws and one emphatic unexpected victory.
Andrej Kramaric scored all four in a 4-0 victory, with a 3-3 and 2-2 draw either side of that showcasing the potential for goals here. That big caveat of course is that the famous Yellow Wall of Dortmund fans was absent for that 4-0 loss – and they make a huge difference.
No home favourite has lost in the first two rounds of the Bundesliga with fans back in the grounds – so you’d fancy Dortmund to get the job done here, and it should be a game filled with action.
Erling Haaland will of course be centre of attention, with his remarkable scoring record now reading 62 goals in 63 competitive outings for Dortmund.
And if you’re backing Haaland to score for Dortmund, you may as well back him to score twice, as incredibly the last 11 times he’s found the net for Dortmund in a game he’s bagged at least two.
That’s the kind of stat we love in this column and if you fancy him to score, as we do, then you may as well back him to bag two with his price for a brace being the subject of an OddsBoost on the Sportsbook.
We’re happy to back him at 5/2 to maintain that incredible scoring form.
