After a push in Germany, Kev’s taking on an odds-on favourite in Argentina.
“Platense have started the league season by winning both games, and they are unbeaten in their last five road matches at this level.”
Hardy visitors to grab a result
Nueva Chicago v Platense
Tuesday 03 September, 21:05
A Teutonic tease for us last night, as Stuttgart led 2-1 for most of the second half of their game against Bochum, but couldn’t get the third goal that would’ve turned a push into a win. We get our stake back, and we’ll use it to go to Argentina. Nueva Chicago are up against Platense in the Primera B, and there’s every reason to think the hosts are too short at [1.99].
It’s early days in the season, but Nueva Chicago have only drawn their opening two games of the league campaign, and if you stretch back into last season you see they have had problems for quite a while at the Estadio Republica de Mataderos. They have won just two of their last eight home matches in the league, and while they have only lost once in that sequence, they’ve only scored multiple goals three times.
Platense have started the season with wins over Ferro Carril Oeste and Estudiantes de Rio Cuarto. If you include last season, the Squid have lost just one of their last seven road matches at this level, and are unbeaten in the last five. They have only failed to score in two of those seven games.
Both teams are unbeaten, but the market seems to think the hosts should be favoured here. At a smidge under evens, I think they are worth opposing.
