Premier League Top Goalscorer: Kane favourite to fire in 2019/20

Harry Kane is 4/1 to be the Premier League top goalscorer in the 2019/20 season which kicks off in a couple of weeks. The Tottenham forward has won the Golden Boot twice already (in 2015/16 and 2016/17) and bettors believe he’s the man most likely to top the scoring charts in the new campaign.

Kane leads cast of usual suspects

Kane is followed in the betting by Mo Salah (9/1), the Liverpool striker who shared the award with teammate Sadio Mane (11/1) and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (6/1) last time out.

Sergio Augero is 6/1 as he prepares for another season at the front of Manchester City’s devastating attack.

City are the title favourites at 8/15 but it’s interesting to note that the last time the Golden Boot winner came from the title-winning team was 2012/13 when Robin van Persie triumphed for Manchester United.

Prior to that Betfair Ambassador Dimitar Berbatov pulled off the same trick for the same club.

Sterling and Lacazette look generously priced

Beyond the frontrunners there are a group of potent attackers available to back at more generous odds. Raheem Sterling (14/1) has been scintillating for Manchester City for the past two seasons, scoring 18 in the league last term, and it would be no surprise if he were to finish on top of the charts in the new campaign.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is a fan of his French forward Alexandre Lacazette, arguably favouring him over Aubameyang, and the 22/1 on Lacazette stands out.

Jamie Vardy (17/1) should thrive for a rejuvenated Leicester while fans would love to see Marcus Rashford (25/1) and Gabriel Jesus (25/1) find their sharpness on opposite sides of Manchester.

Callum Wilson, Lucas Moura and Anthony Martial among promising outsiders

And what of the true dark horses on whom you could make serious money? Spurs’ Son Heung-Min only scored 12 in the League last term but might be worth an interest at 45/1.

Son’s teammate Lucas Moura can be devastating when he gets his chance so perhaps the 80/1 is worth considering.

Callum Wilson (50/1) got 14 in the League for Bournemouth last season and, if you’re looking for a bet beyond the top six clubs, the England striker could be your man.

Anthony Martial (75/1) has been playing through the middle for Manchester United in preseason and has scored four consecutive friendlies. That doesn’t mean he’s ready to challenge the likes of Kane but the Frenchman is a huge talent and his pace can trouble any defence.

Finally, Wilfried Zaha (100/1) may or may not be on the verge of a big money move from Crystal Palace. Whether he stays at Selhurst Park or not, he will be confident of scoring more goals in 2019/20.
