The Daily Acca: Brazil to complete their Copa America victory without conceding

Metros to continue to struggle

Bet 1: Back Atlanta United @ 8/15 – KO 19:00 BST

The hosts are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, and they have games in hand over the three teams above them.

That being said, their progress has stalled of late as Frank de Boer’s men have lost two of their last three. Both of those were on the road though, and at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, it’s six straight wins for the Five Stripes.

Opponents, New York Red Bulls, aren’t quite the force they were a couple of years ago. They are sixth in the standings, and were beaten 4-0 at Houston Dynamo when they were last in action.

Away from home it’s four defeats from eight matches this season, and they have conceded seven goals in their last two.

Brazil to keep it clean

Bet 2: Back Brazil to win to nil @ 8/11 – KO 21:00 BST

This is the final of the Copa America and while Brazil were expected to be there, Peru definitely weren’t.

Ricardo Gareca’s men only finished third in their group – behind Brazil and Venezuela. They then beat Uruguay out on penalties and upset the odds again by thumping Chile 3-0.

Obviously confidence will now be high in the Peru camp, but it was only just over a fortnight ago that they were beaten 5-0 by Brazil in the group stage.

Tite’s Brazilians haven’t been firing on all cylinders in this tournament, but they are yet to concede a goal, and should be able to get the win to nil this evening.

Away day blues for Portland

Bet 3: Back New York City @ 3/4 – KO 23:30 BST

We finish back in the MLS and I can’t see anything other than a home win for New York City.

The Pigeons come into the game on the back of five straight wins in all competitions, and they are currently eight unbeaten at the Yankee Stadium – four of the last five being victories.

Portland Timbers are the visitors and they beat Dallas 1-0 when they were last in action. They may well only be 10th in the Western Conference, but they have only had 16 matches (13 of which were away), whereas everyone else has played a minimum of 18.

Nevertheless, Giovanni Savarese’s side are up against it tonight, and they have lost seven of their 13 on their travels this year.
