The Daily Acca: Vitesse to dominate again in Arnhem

Utrecht to come up short in European bid

Bet 1: Back Vitesse @ 5/6 – KO 19:45 BST

This is a Dutch Eredivisie fixture to determine who will qualify for next season’s Europa League. Both of these teams have already come through a semi-final play-off to get this far, and the first leg finished 1-1 on Friday.

I have to favour the hosts this evening though as they are just so strong at home. Leonid Slutsky’s men have only lost once at home in the league this season, and that was against Ajax, all the way back in September.

Utrecht can be a bit hit and miss on their travels, and while they won at Heracles in the semis, they ended the regular campaign with three straight away defeats. They also lost this fixture by a 2-1 scoreline in November.

Class to tell in Brazil’s second tier

Bet 2: Back Sport Recife @ 8/5 – KO 23:15 BST

These two clubs were two divisions apart last season, but Sport were relegated from the top flight, while Operano PR were promoted from Serie C.

The latter have struggled in Serie B thus far though, as after winning their opener over America Mineiro, they have since gone on to take just one point from a possible 12 – scoring only one goal.

The selection made a solid, if not spectacular start, by drawing their first three matches, but they have won their last two, and the goals have started to flow – two against America Mineiro and three against Londrina, most recently.

Despite being away from home tonight, I strongly fancy Guto Ferreira’s side to take all three points, as they are a much classier team.

Goals at both ends at Guarani

Bet 3: Back BTTS in Guarani v Brasil de Pelotas @ 5/4 – KO 01:30 BST (Wed)

Brasil de Pelotas’ miserable start to the campaign took a turn for the better at the weekend as they put four straight defeats behind them to record a 2-1 home win. They scored their first goals of the season, and I think they can build on that to at least find the net at Guarani.

They actually performed quite well on the road last term, winning plenty of games and scoring a fair number of goals, so I am not too concerned by the fact that both of their away matches this year have ended in 1-0 defeats.

The hosts have been inconsistent this season as they have won one, drawn two and lost two games. On this ground they have drawn 0-0 and won 3-2, and in their three away outings, they are yet to find the net.

That obviously doesn’t bode too well for both teams to score, but that’s why we are getting above even money, and it’s worth noting that when these two met last season, the scorelines were 1-1 and 2-1.
