Saturday Sports Multiple: Back a Copa Stalemate in a 27/1 weekend wager

Andrew Hughes thinks Valencia can take their Copa del Rey final against Barcelona to extra time on Saturday in another weekend multiple.

“Barca will also be without key players Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Marc-Andre ter Stegen for this game against a team that finished strongly, beating Real Valladolid 2-0 to earn a Champions League spot.”

Barcelona are odds-on to end their domestic campaign with a league and cup double but that price looks a little short, given how they’ve ended the season.

As Jack Lang points out in his essential Copa del Rey Preview, Barca signed off in La Liga with a couple of mediocre results against Getafe and Eibar, while their shock exit from the Champions League still casts a shadow over their achievements, and has put manager Ernesto Valverde’s future at the club in doubt.

Barca will also be without key players Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Marc-Andre ter Stegen for this game against a team that finished strongly, beating Real Valladolid 2-0 to earn a Champions League spot. Valencia have earned two draws against Barca this season and they can take Saturday’s final to extra time.

England are big odds-on favourites to continue their World Cup preparations with a victory over the old enemy on Saturday, but they might not have it all their own way.

They remain the world’s number one fifty-over team, and had little trouble brushing aside Pakistan 4-0 in their recently-completed series, but Australia offer a much sterner test and will be keen to lay down a marker.

The Aussies have been through a rough four years since their World Cup win in 2015, but they have found form at the right time, and the return of David Warner and Steve Smith to their starting XI has given them additional firepower. It may only be a warm-up but Australia will see it as a chance to push the World Cup favourites and they look like the value selection here.

There’s plenty of action for rugby betting fans to get stuck into this weekend and you can stay up to date with the latest tips and previews on the Betting.Betfair rugby page.

Canberra Raiders will be hopeful of getting a win on the board after playing well in defeat in consecutive games against the Roosters and the Rabbitohs and will be banking on two points against the thirteenth-placed Cowboys.

But North Queensland are a team on the up at the moment. They beat the Eels 17-10 last round, despite having three tries ruled out and have now won three of their last five, with their exciting pack starting to show what they can do. There may not be much in this game, but I’ll be siding with the visitors on Saturday.
