The Daily Acca: Milan to pick up away win

Tuesday’s edition of the Daily Acca sees Paul Robinson pick out two home wins in the Bundesliga and an away success for AC Milan in Serie A. Here are his selections:

AC to close the gap on Inter

Bet 1: Back AC Milan @ 19/20 – KO 19:30 GMT

The Rossoneri are fourth in the table but even if they win their game in hand tonight, they will still be three points behind rivals, Inter, with a further six points to Napoli in second.

Gennaro Gattuso’s side are still in transition, but they crashed out of the Europa League last week, and now need to concentrate on domestic success.

They have actually lost just one of their last seven in the league, and the defeat came against Juventus. Winning matches away from the San Siro hasn’t come easy to them this year – just two from seven attempts – but they have drawn plenty of games, and their two losses came against Napoli and Inter.

Bologna are third from bottom of Serie A, and they come into tonight having gone eight without a win in the league. Half of those were defeats, including their two most recent outings – 4-1 and 2-1 losses at Sampdoria and Empoli, respectively.

Even at home, three of their seven appearances have ended in defeat and they should end up being outclassed by Milan.

Hertha to overpower Augsburg

Bet 2: Back Hertha Berlin @ 13/10 – KO 19:30 GMT

The selection saw their three match unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of Stuttgart on Saturday, but it was only a narrow 2-1 loss, and they were away from home.

The hosts have won four of their seven Bundesliga matches in front of their own fans this year, and their only defeat came to RB Leipzig. They beat Eintracht Frankfurt last time out here, and they have already recorded victories against Bayern Munich and Borussia M’Gladbach.

Augsburg are in the midst of a miserable run of form that has seen them take just two points from a possible 18. They did end a four match losing streak against Schalke on Saturday, but it was only a 1-1 draw, and they were at home.

On the road it’s three straight defeats – with the last two being to nil – and I can’t see them doing as well as they did here back in April when they drew 2-2.

Stuttgart to flop again on the road

Bet 3: Back Wolfsburg @ 7/10 – KO 19:30 GMT

The hosts are eighth in the Bundesliga and they have played themselves into a bit of form of late – three wins and a draw from their last four games. They won 2-0 at Nurnberg on Friday, and they also beat Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, who are fourth and fifth in the table.

Opponents, Stuttgart, also won when last in action, as they beat Hertha Berlin on Saturday. They have been a bit inconsistent though, and it was only two months ago that they began a run of four straight losses.

It’s also been a tale of woe for them away from home this season as they have played eight, won one, drawn one and lost six.
