It’s a Europa League treble for Paul Robinson’s Daily Acca today and it pays around the 5/1 mark. Here are his selections:
Expect goals in France
Bet 1: Back BTTS in Marseille v RB Leipzig @ 4/7 – KO 20:05 BST
This tie is finely poised as RB Leipzig won 1-0 in Germany last week, meaning that they only need a draw this evening to progress through to the semi-finals.
Playing for a draw is a risky move though and as an away goal would mean that Marseille would need at least three to progress, I think that Ralph Hasenhüttl will send out his team to score.
The visitors have netted in seven of their last eight on their travels in all competitions, and in the previous two rounds of this tournament, they netted at both Zenit and Napoli.
Marseille drew 0-0 with Montpellier at the weekend, but that was the first time they fired a blank at home since the beginning of December. It was also the first time in four matches that they kept a clean sheet at Stade Vélodrome.
Diego Simeone’s side to do what they do best
Bet 2: Back Under 2.5 Goals in Sporting Lisbon v Atletico Madrid @ 8/11 – KO 20:05 BST
The hosts head into tonight’s second leg trailing by two goals to nil and despite their fantastic home record, I can’t see them being able to turn it around against Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side have done the hard work and we know that they can defend. I expect a typical Atleti performance at Estádio José Alvalade and this is a team that have already kept clean sheets at the likes of Roma and Valencia this season.
Sporting Lisbon need at least two goals to have any chance of qualifying and while they have won their last three 2-0 at home, they have only netted three times or more in one of their last eight.
Lazio to lose in Austria
Bet 3: Back Salzburg @ 23/20 – KO 20:05 BST
We finish in Austria with Salzburg under pressure to chase the game against Lazio. They lost the first leg 4-2 in Italy, so they need to win by two goals to progress – most likely on away goals.
Salzburg were competitive in that match – they conceded twice in the final 15 minutes – and they are quite formidable in front of their own fans.
In the Europa League they have already beaten Marseille and Real Sociedad at home this term, and they drew with Dortmund in the last round.
Lazio are in fine form as they have won four of their last five in all competitions. It is worth noting though that they have been conceding goals during that run, and they could get outgunned tonight.
